As with writing, I see public speaking as an important component of my work on behalf of animals. My talks are often educational, covering a range of topics relating to animals and animal well-being. I have also participated in panel discussion or “debate” style events.
Public speaking gives me a chance to share information with a different audience than I might when I am conducting more formal teaching or training. Though because of the educational nature presentations, many of them do take place on college campuses.
I’ve had the privilege of speaking all over the country, including:
- University of Connecticut
- Duke University
- University of California Berkeley, Boalt School of Law, and
- University of Pennsylvania
among others.
